Starting out, the chicks live their lives cozy and protected in our brooders. At 3 weeks old, the cornish cross chicks are moved to pasture and rotate daily to twice daily. They are provided a local feed that is high in oats.

The birds spend the majority of their lives on the farm, from arriving as 2 day old chicks from Freedom Ranger Hatchery to processing at 8 weeks. We catch them early in the morning to prevent stress when crated. Birds are processed on site, aged 2 days in ice water and then shrink wrapped, weighed and frozen.
